SNP Glasgow Central candidate slams anti-Scottish Tories |

Commenting after the Conservative manifesto launch, Bill Kidd, SNP candidate for Glasgow Central said:
"Despite the tartan trimmings the Tories remain fundamentally
anti-Scottish. Already in this campaign British Tories have threatened
to slash Scottish spending and attacked Scotland’s parliament.
“The last thing Glasgow needs is for decision making to be
recentralized, and for vital health services to be further cut. The
Tories presided over the decline of heavy industry in Scotland, and the
resulting unemployment still mires parts Glasgow Central in poverty.â€
Bill added:
“The Tories have always been, and still are, a nasty party. The
Scottish Tories may be embarrassed by their vampiric leader, but
Michael Howard calls the shots and he will always put big business
Britain before Scotland. Only 4% of Scots trust Michael Howard to stand
up for our interests.
“They are still the same old anti-Scottish Tories who introduced poll
tax to Scotland, cursed generations of Scots – especially in Glasgow
and the West - with unemployment while they grew rich, and condemned
our pensioners to poverty by breaking the link with earnings.
“The Tories, along with New Labour, seek to hold Scotland back, to use its oil wealth to fund their re-election.â€
"Only Scotland’s Party will make Scotland matter in this campaign. Only
with Independence will Glasgow have the resources it needs to tackle
its health and social injustices. Only the SNP will put Scotland first." |
