Anne McLaughlin will be a hard working, dedicated MSP for Springburn. She is standing for two main reasons - one is that she is completely committed to bringing about Scotland's Independence. The other is that Springburn has huge health and housing problems and Anne McLaughlin believes it is time you had someone who was prepared to stand up for the area and fight for you.
For decades now the Labour Party has controlled the council, they have been in charge at Westminster since 1997 and along with the Lib Dems, they've been running the Scottish Parliament since its inception.
- So why does this area STILL have a far lower life expectancy than the rest of Scotland?
- Why are 4 times as many people from here admitted to hospital because of drug misuse compared to the whole country?
- And how come the gross household income in Springburn is 27% (YES, TWENTY SEVEN PER CENT) lower than the Scottish average?
Does nobody care?
The SNP cares and Anne McLaughlin cares. Anne is an experienced campaigner having been an SNP activist for 20 years and more recently having been one of the leading campaigners to Save Yorkhills Hospitals. She will bring the same energy and commitment to representing you in the Scottish Parliament.
Anne lives in the constituency (in Dennistoun) and currently heads up Global Flying Hospitals in this country - a humanitarian organisation which provides medical relief in developing countries and disaster zones.
