Welcome victory for GHA home owners |

Homeowners who have been facing court action in their on-going battle with the GHA over the costs of building repairs have started to see the first practical results of the continuing pressure of The Glasgow Save Our Homes campaign and The SNPs Glasgow Kelvin candidate Sandra White.
Following on from the petition presented to Communities Scotland and Sandra White last month calling for action to help home-owners communities Scotland announced a package of measures aimed at tackling the problem of repayment of building work undertaken by GHA.
This package included the idea of providing bridging loans for those facing court actions and at a recent meeting communities Scotland promised to implement this measure without delay.
Commenting Sandra White said:
We have been fighting for something to be done for some time now and Im glad that many people will now not have the added anxiety court action brings with it to deal with. However this problem has been left to grow for too long and its only been through continuing pressure that something has finally been done.
Im still waiting to hear the exact details of these measures and I am still concerned that the loans will have to be repaid with interest. This piecemeal approach to the problem could in fact cause more uncertainty and worry for those already facing court action. I will continue to fight for Glasgows home owners to ensure that a thorough and co-ordinated approach is implemented
