Fire Brigades Union backs Sandra White
Monday, 02 April 2007
Sandra WhiteSandra White, the SNP candidate for Kelvin has received a timely boost in her campaign to to return her to the Scottish Parliament for a third term.  The Scottish Fire Brigades Union has made a donation to her campaign and wished her “every success in the forthcoming election”.

Ms White said:

“This is a very welcome boost.  I have always had a close working relationship with the FBU and have campaigned for them against the New Labour assault on both their pensions and the reduction in fire fighting capability in Glasgow

“What the FBU are experiencing is similar to many other public sector workers and I’m 100% with them.

“In his letter, the Scottish Secretary of the FBU Ken Ross said 'The committee recognizes the assistance that you have afforded officials in the past and very much hopes that the relationship between the Union and yourself continues to be positive, cooperative and productive.'

“Well, 'positive, cooperative and productive' is certainly what I intend to be as we continue the fight against the assault on our pensions and the reduction in our public services”.

“I warmly welcome the FBUs assistance in my campaign”
