White on CRE immigration report
Monday, 31 October 2005
Commenting on the report entitled Broadening Our Horizons, published today (Monday) by the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE),SNP Equal Opportunities spokesperson Sandra White MSP said:

"The SNP support the Commission for Racial Equality's view that far more has to be done to support those migrants and refugees who are coming to Scotland.

"This report exposes the fact that Ministers efforts are falling woefully short in terms of meeting Scotland's population challenge, and in welcoming both immigrants and refugees to our country.

"We clearly need to raise our game with regards to attracting more people to Scotland. It is one thing bringing immigrants here but we have to improve the provision of support if we are to keep them here in Scotland in the long-term."
