Sandra said: "This is good news for Glasgow.  Now that we are on the short list we have to make every effort to secure the casino and my favourite location would be the one at the SECC.  Not only would it help in the regeneration and uplift of that area but it would also provide some much need amenities and jobs.

"We still have to iron out a few social concerns for instance the impact of gambling in poorer communities, but the Glasgow Harbour site, because of it's location should help minimise that.

"So, good news and here's looking towards the final decision in December."
