Sandra White MSP for Glasgow Kelvin has congratulated the Glasgow West End-based Philip Friel’s Advanced Dentistry on being named Practice of the Year in Scotland and Most Attractive Practice in the UK at the recent Private Dentistry Award 2011.

The clinic first opened in November 2010, but the final refurbishment work will be finished by December this year with an official opening ceremony in January 2012. The clinic has also already been accepted as a member of The Leading Dental Centers of the World, an organisation recognising excellence in the dental profession.

The director of the clinic, Dr Philip Friel, is one of the country’s foremost dental surgeons and was named in the Dentistry Awards 2010 as Best Young Surgeon of the Year for Scotland.

Sandra White MSP for Glasgow Kelvin said: “This is fantastic news and I congratulate Dr Friel and the staff of Philip Friel’s Advanced Dentistry on receiving this award.

“Philip Friel’s Advanced Dentistry has been named in the finals for another 13 categories and I am proud to welcome this prestigious clinic to Glasgow Kelvin and I wish him and his staff all the best for their future endeavours.
