SNP on Labour lack of responsibility
Friday, 07 December 2007

Commenting on MSP Charlie Gordon's decision not to resign and the continued failure of Labour to take responsibility for accepting illegal donations SNP Glasgow MSP Sandra White said;

"It is clear Charlie Gordon is not prepared to walk the plank for his Labour colleagues and certainly not to take the blame for Team Alexander's illegal actions.

"Wendy Alexander and her team have admitted accepting illegal donations. It is simply not credible for all of those involved in Wendy Alexander's campaign to claim innocence and keep their jobs.

"Labour must stop playing pass the parcel, accept responsibility and take action.

"The Electoral Commission are investigating and the police will be next.

"The last time a Cathcart MSP acted illegally he was suspended by the Labour party.  Mike Watson denied his guilt, Team Alexander and Charlie Gordon have admitted theirs.

"With the SNP at a record high in the opinion polls it's no surprise Labour does not want a by-election."
