Flourish House receives £5,700 Donation from Bank of Scotland Foundation
Thursday, 20 October 2011

Sandra presenting chequeLocal MSP Sandra White today was delighted to hand over a presentation cheque of £5,700 to Flourish House in Glasgow and to take up the opportunity to meet staff and members and to speak to them about their various projects.

The local charity has received a donation of £5,700 from the Bank of Scotland Foundation to fund their Welfare Rights worker. Flourish House promotes recovery from mental health problems and empowers their members by enabling them to take part in training, education and employment as well as social events.

Sandra White MSP for Glasgow Kelvin said: “I am delighted to hand over the presentation cheque to Flourish House and to be one of the first people to congratulate them on successfully securing the grant which will enable their Welfare Rights worker to continue the valuable work.

“Numerous local charities have struggled financially, thus these awards are essential to carry on with the vital work they do within their communities like empowering individuals and tackling inequalities.

“Flourish House already does a great job in supporting people with mental health problems by providing assistance to build up confidence and learn valuable skills and I am confident that this award will help even more people affected by mental illnesses.”
