Thursday, 03 November 2011

Ben Nevis barSandra White MSP for Glasgow Kelvin today congratulated the Ben Nevis Pub for being shortlisted for Venue of the Year in the Scots Traditional Music Awards.

This award is one of Scotland’s leading music prizes and aims on increasing the profile and visibility of traditional Scottish music. The public is given the opportunity to vote for the winner online until November 18.

The Ben Nevis Pub on Argyle Street has held traditional music sessions for over ten years and hosts sessions every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. The nomination has been welcomed by management, staff and customers who consider the pub as one of a kind and one of Glasgow’s best kept secrets.

Sandra White MSP for Glasgow Kelvin commented: “I am delighted with the pub’s nomination for Venue of the Year and I think it greatly deserves receiving this award.

“I have already cast my vote and I would encourage everyone to visit http://www.scottishcultureonline.com/vote-now-in-the-mg-alba-scots-trad-music-awards-2011/ in order to support Ben Nevis Pub.

“This unique and contemporary Glasgow West End bar has always had an excellent reputation for its rich atmosphere and traditional music sessions and I wish the pub’s management and staff all the best for its future endeavours.”
