Sandra White MSP for Glasgow Kelvin has welcomed the invaluable role local independent radio stations play for local communities at a recent event held by the Scottish Community Broadcasting Network (SCBN) which was attended by local radio stations across Scotland.
The SCBN is a voluntary body which serves Scotland’s community and small-scale independent local radio stations; which along with its members works to provide support, advice and guidance to communities who are interested in community radio.

Local MSP Sandra White today congratulated three groups in her constituency who successfully secured a total of £19,961 funding from the Awards for All grant which is The Big Lottery’s small grant scheme giving funding of up to £10,000 to local groups to help them making a difference in their community.
Cranstonhill Nursery School will purchase various outdoor play equipment as well as a storytelling chair to provide further outdoor learning opportunities for the children attending the nursery.

Giving her support to the forthcoming Scottish Tourism Week 2012, Sandra White MSP said: "In my constituency of Glasgow Kelvin, we have fantastic opportunities and facilities. Not only for local people but for those from abroad so tourism plays a very important part for Glasgow Kelvin.
"Particularly the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, we will have the bowling, track and field events in Scotstoun, we also have the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum which is of course very famous and of course the city centre.
