Scottish National Party Depute Leader Nicola Sturgeon today [Friday] visited the Working Rite initiative in Glasgow to promote the Party's positive agenda for boosting the Scottish economy.
The Working Rite initiative helps young people find employment with trades people. Ms Sturgeon will also explain how an SNP Government will offer an opportunity for Scotland's young people by creating thriving, successful communities.
The SNP used the opportunity for the visit to announce that the Party is to pledge up to £10m to provide additional start-up equity support for young Scottish entrepreneurs.
Ms Sturgeon said:
"The SNP believes in Scotland and our potential for success. That's why we want to invest in our talented young people in order to give them the best start in life, and a foot up in the business world.
"I'm proud to announce that the SNP in Government will pledge up to £10m to provide additional start-up support for young Scottish entrepreneurs.
"The SNP are the only party in this election with a fully worked-out eonomic plan made in Scotland for Scotland. It is the only strategy to build Scottish economic success. It stands in stark contrast to a Labour/Lib Dem Executive that has run out of steam, and has presided over low growth Scottish economy.
"The SNP will do everything in our power to build Scottish success.
"That's why an SNP Government will support and encourage schemes like the Working Rite initiative. It shows what local community organisations can do to create a better economic environment for their local community and young people.
"We want to see our communities thriving again, with local shops and businesses given the support they deserve. We want our young people given the opportunities and skills to move forward confidently.
"It's time for fresh thinking with a new Scottish Government to give Scotland's businesses a competitive edge and give our talented young people positive assistance when starting out in business. It's time to let Scotland Flourish." |
