Glasgow MSPs on Commonwealth Games success |

Glasgow's SNP MSPs today celebrated the city's success on winning the 2014 Commonwealth Games as they joined others watching the event at Glasgow's Fruitmarket.
Deputy First Minister and MSP for Govan Nicola Sturgeon offered her congratulations to all involved:
"It's absolutely brilliant. A big well done to all our girls and guys in Sri Lanka. This is absolutely fantastic for Glasgow and all of Scotland."
MSP Sandra White said:
"I am absolutely over the moon that Glasgow has won the bid. It will deliver much needed regeneration to some of our most deprived areas.
Glasgow and Scotland will put on a fantastic Games for the people of the Commonwealth. Athletes and visitors will receive a great welcome from Glasgow."
Speaking at the Fruitmarket SNP MSP Bob Doris said:
"This is a great achievement for Glasgow and for Scotland. Well done to all involved. Hosting the 2014 Games will be a real inspiration to Glasgow, to Scotland and to Scots across the city and the country to get into sport."
He was joined by MSP Bashir Ahmad at the announcement who said:
"I can't wait to see Scotland welcome people from all over the world to Glasgow. I am absolutely delighted that Glasgow has won this opportunity."
Bill Kidd MSP and Glasgow Cllr praised the work of the Council, the Government and the bid team. He said:
"Everyone has put in a huge effort to bring the games to Glasgow. I want to congratulate all of those working on the bid team. The Games will show the best of Glasgow and the best of Scotland to the world."
