Humza Yousaf MSP

Humza Yousaf MSP

I have been actively involved in the SNP since my teens, but my father has been a member since 1974 so I have been putting leaflets through letter boxes since I learnt how to ride a bike!

I was born in Glasgow’s Southside and after completing my degree in Politics at the University of Glasgow, I went to work in the Scottish Parliament with the late Bashir Ahmed, who has been a great influence on my life.

I have worked for a number of MSPs in the Scottish Parliament including Anne McLaughlin, Nicola Sturgeon and the First Minister, Alex Salmond.

The SNP has often asked me to step forward and represent its views on a national platform. I have been interviewed on BBC Scotland, Radio Scotland, Real Radio, Radio Clyde, STV and in a range of local and national newspapers. I was honoured and humbled this year to be awarded the ‘Political Force of the Future Award’ presented at Glasgow City Chambers.
