Members have already broken new plan to devolve decisions to Scotland
The Scottish Labour party is in chaos ahead of its conference as it was revealed the party has broken its new plan for change.
Despite a review calling for all local government decisions to be made in Scotland the cull of Labour councillors in Glasgow is being forced through by representatives from London.
With the review set to be voted on tomorrow Labour have already backtracked on their first pledge.
In further damaging reports ahead of conference it is also claimed that
- Former MSP Frank McAveety has been kept off the approved list of candidates for the local elections amid a police probe about the use of public money at his constituency office.
- Labour MPs want shadow Scottish Secretary Ann McKechin replaced as they believe she is not strong enough to take on the SNP.
- Leadership candidate Tom Harris has told newspapers Labour haven't had a vision for 12 years as leadership sniping gets under way.
- In a final humiliation for Labour marketing experts have today said that the "red rose" logo is wilting.
Bob Doris, SNP MSP for Glasgow, said: "Scottish Labour is heading to conference in absolute chaos.
"One minute Jim Murphy's review calls for the party to distance itself from London and the next it is drafting in London Labour's director to deal with what is an increasingly damaging and divisive cull of councillors in Glasgow.
"This clear lack of leadership and constant change of heart is confusing Scottish voters.
"Not only has the party broken its new plans for Scottish control but it has been left red-faced following rumours surrounding two of its high profile members.
"Sunday's decisions on Labour's constitution could be the end of the road for Ann McKechin.
"The people of Scotland can not be fooled. If Labour continues to be run from London they will not be able to hide it.
"Scottish Labour must be wishing they could run away and hide instead of having to face the rest of the party in Liverpool.
"While Labour are obsessing with themselves the SNP is continuing to govern for the people of Scotland. It is about time Labour stepped up to the responsibilities of opposition and got a grip of their party."
