Glasgow SNP MSP Bob Doris has commented on the decision by Glasgow and Clyde Health Board to suspend its decision to increase car parking charges at Stobhill Hospital.

Mr Doris said: "I welcome the decision of Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board to postpone the implementation of the next phase of their ill thought out car parking charges strategy.
 

"The Cabinet Secretary's review will now have time to look at the shortcomings of this scheme and make sure that staff, patients and their families as well as locals near hospitals such as Stobhill do not suffer from the health boards inappropriate  'one size fits all' approach to car park charging.

"I recently called for the Health Board to think again during a debate which demonstrated cross party support on the issue. I am glad they have listened.

"They must now also review their permit and pricing policies at other hospitals in the health board area".
