SNP MSP Bob Doris has today sent a last minute message of support to campaigners who are fighting the school closure plan by Glasgow City Council on the eve of the final vote.
Commenting on reports that protesters have started a 24 hour vigil outside Glasgow City Chambers, SNP MSP Bob Doris said: "I have been repeatedly amazed at the passion and commitment that parents have shown in attempting to save their schools from the Council axe. This 24 hour vigil outside the City Chambers symbolises the hope that remains even at this late stage. A powerful case has been made for the retention of these schools and nurseries, now it's decision time for the council. Councillors on the ruling Labour administration must now come to their senses, join with opposition councillors, and vote down this ill considered school closure programme. Our communities deserve no less."
