Labour prefer scaremongering to solutions on family support
Thursday, 20 March 2008

Commenting on Iain Gray's remarks at First Minister's Questions today (Thursday) where he sought to scaremonger on family support projects Glasgow SNP MSP Bob Doris, a member of the Local Government and Communities Committee, said:

"Iain Gray has let cheap politicking, done on the backs of community groups, get in the way of the facts.

"It is for community planning partnerships locally to allocate money from the Fairer Scotland Fund, not centrally by government.

"Rather than Labour's cynical political grandstanding I suggest he meets with affected projects and relevant community planning partnerships, as I have done in Glasgow, to find a way forward and a solution.

"Iain Gray's scaremongering agenda does community groups no service what so ever."
