Doris urges Glasgow Big Lottery applications
Thursday, 15 July 2010

Scottish National Party MSP Bob Doris is asking Glasgow community groups to come forward to apply for Big Lottery grants. The Big Lottery Fund in Scotland wants to provide groups with an opportunity to spend time and money developing ideas that have a clear public benefit.  They have £1 million to invest in the development of new ideas in 2010-11.

Bob Doris said: “The state of the public finance may be disheartening and community groups are suffering the knock on effects. But I will be working with local groups in Glasgow over the summer to make sure they grab hold of what money is available. This opportunity from the Big Lottery Fund is a chance for some the many great ideas out there to come to fruition.

“Ideas for projects that could improve the lives of Glasgow’s communities can be developed with these grants. Sums of between £500 and £10,000 will be awarded to successful applicants.  Funding can be notoriously difficult to access and I will be happy to help any local group wanting to put in a bid.

“Any groups looking to apply should either call me on 0141 202 0675 or contact the Big Lottery Fund directly on 0300 123 7110”.
