Bob Doris, Glasgow SNP list MSP has warmly welcomed the announcement of a public enquiry into the Stockline explosion in May 2004.

Mr Doris said: "I am glad that this announcement has finally been made.

"It is nearly 3 and a half years since the tragedy and I hope this will allow the families of the victims to get closer to some justice.

"We need to analyse closely how well the health and safety executive operates and how it monitors companies such as ICL Plastics.

"We have a duty to improve health and safety regulations so that such a tragedy never happens again"
