Bob Doris MSP asks GHA to up their game
Tuesday, 22 January 2008

Red Road flatsBob Doris MSP for Glasgow Region has spoken out after it emerged that Glasgow Homeowners could be missing out on £1000's of VAT refunds.  This was revealed after a refund was sent to a woman had been dead for 3 years and that over 100 cheques remain uncashed because Glasgow Housing Association may be using out of date records.

Speaking in Glasgow, Mr Doris said: "If it's the case that the GHA are sending out rebates to people on the basis of an out of date database then that's something they'll need to address very quickly.

"£1000 is a fair whack of money and may mean the difference between solvency and severe financial hardship.

"This after all is their money and it is imperative that they receive it.

"Yet again the GHA have failed to cover themselves with glory when dealing with owner occupiers."
