Glasgow SNP MSP Bob Doris has been appointed to the Scottish Parliaments Local Government and Communities Committee as one of the SNPs representatives to oversee the work of the new Scottish Government.
Commenting on his appointment Bob said:
Im delighted to have been appointed to this Committee. It is the one I applied for and the one which will enable me best to represent the North of Glasgow.
"The role of committees will be central to the new politics that the SNP seek to create. The Local Government and Communities Committee not only functions to constructively scrutinise the work of the Scottish Government, but will play a huge part in building consensus on our positive proposals to make Scotland fairer and wealthier.
Welcoming Bobs appointment Bruce Crawford MSP, the Minister for Parliament and the SNP's representative on the parliament's Business Bureau said:
"I'm delighted that Bob will be part of a strong and experienced team in this new SNP Group, and I'm confident that he will be able to provide strong leadership to the work of the committees at every level.
Our MSPs bring with them a range of valuable outside experience and perspective on the work of parliament and Bob will be an essential addition to that team.
