Bob Doris MSP

Bob Doris is an MSP for Glasgow and convenor of the SNP Glasgow Regional Association, a group of SNP members from 10 constituencies in and around the city who join together for campaigning purposes.

In February 2006 he was the SNP organiser for the Milton by-election for Glasgow Council which Billy McAllister won with a 15.1 % swing from Labour to the SNP.

Bob serves on the Local Government and Communities Committee in the Scottish Parliament.

Children's Minister united with communities

Bob Doris, SNP MSP for Glasgow, had the pleasure of meeting with Aileen Campbell, Children’s Minister and North United Communities (NUC) at the HUB in Maryhill on Wednesday, 1st February.  Speaking at the visit, Bob said: "Youth organisations such as North United Communities make a terrific contribution to social and community wellbeing.  The Scottish Government value their work, as can be evidenced from the visit from the Children’s Minister today.

Minimum pricing will reduce deaths and cut crime

Bob Doris MSPStudy shows responsible drinkers will not be penalised

The SNP has welcomed a report from the University of Sheffield that shows minimum pricing of alcohol will prevent hundreds of deaths and cut 3,600 crimes each year in Scotland.

The report measures the effect the policy is estimated to have on Scotland’s alcohol misuse problem.

New figures reveal that in many households are entitled to some form of assistance with their fuel bills that they are not receiving. That help is worth an average of £250 per household and a free helpline is available for more information.

Doris calls on all of Glasgow to be part of deciding Scotland’s future

saltireBob Doris, SNP MSP for Glasgow, today used the launch of the Scottish Government Independence Referendum Consultation paper to ask the First Minister and his cabinet to engage with those least likely, or not registered, to vote.

Mr Doris asked how the independence campaign and the Scottish Government can reach out to habitual non-voters or those who are not on the electoral role at all. He also asked if the First Minister shared his concerns that the most deprived communities are often where turn-out is lowest and so are most disenfranchised.
