Bill Kidd chosen as Glasgow Anniesland Scottish Parliament candidate
Monday, 09 August 2010

Anniesland candidate Bill KiddBill Kidd, SNP MSP for Glasgow, has been chosen as the candidate for the Glasgow Anniesland constituency for the 2011 Scottish Parliament elections. Mr Kidd’s candidacy was approved last Thursday (5th August 2010) by the Scottish National Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), having been selected by local members earlier this year.

Bill was elected as an MSP for the Glasgow region in the historic 2007 Scottish Parliamentary elections, which saw the formation of the first ever SNP government. Since being elected, Bill has worked hard to make sure local interests are heard in the Scottish Parliament.

Commenting, Mr Kidd said: “I am delighted to have been selected as the SNP candidate for the constituency of Glasgow Anniesland.

“It has been an honour to represent people of Glasgow in the Scottish Parliament. I am committed to the area, personally and politically, and if elected will continue be a strong voice for local interests at Holyrood.

“The 2007 elections were historic for the people of Scotland and saw the election of the first ever SNP government. I aim to build on this success and to grow this support locally with a strong campaign.

“I look forward to the campaign ahead and would encourage local people to make sure that their voices are heard along the way and on polling day—by holding all candidates to account and making clear what is important to them.”
