Bill Kidd MSP

Bill is MSP for Glasgow Anniesland. He previously represented the SNP as MSP for Glasgow Region (2007-11), and has also stood in numerous Parliamentary Elections, both Holyrood and Westminster.

He has also represented the SNP Trade Union Group on the Party's NEC.

His major political interests are the development of policies to eradicate poverty, job creation, housing policy and an end to the nuclear power and weapons programmes of successive British Governments.

Bill Kidd MSPSNP criticise anti-independence leader's stance on Scotland

Commenting on the speech by Ed Miliband in Scotland today, SNP MSP Bill Kidd said Labour is still failing to present a positive vision for Scotland – instead using out-of-date anti-independence arguments.

Mr Kidd, SNP MSP for Glasgow Anniesland, said: “Ed Miliband is the least popular Westminster leader in Scotland – his satisfaction ratings have been as low as minus 70 – and the other two are also extremely unpopular.  It becomes clear why after his speech, in which he failed yet again to present a positive vision for Scotland’s future.

Commenting on Ed Miliband's expected comments as he visits Scotland, Bill Kidd, SNP MSP for Glasgow Anniesland, said: "With Ed Miliband's net satisfaction rating at minus 70 Labour are at rock bottom in Scotland. More so since they tied themselves in with the Tories and LibDems in the anti-independence camp.

The breakdowns from the latest YouGov poll for the Sunday Times show that the unpopularity of all the UK party leaders is at its greatest in Scotland with all three party leaders showing significant negative ratings.

Labour questions continue on Trident

Trident submarine on ClydeJohann Lamont and Jim Murphy face new questions over Scottish Labour's position on the renewal of nuclear weapons on the Clyde after Murphy said a Labour Government would retain the "nuclear deterrent".

The new leader of Scottish Labour Johann Lamont was the only candidate who failed to declare her position on new nuclear weapons during the leadership contest having previously opposed nuclear weapons.
