McLaughlin gives support to Kidz Biz competition
Anne McLaughlin MSP
Friday, 20 August 2010

Anne McLaughlin, SNP MSP for the Glasgow Region, has today given her backing to Kidz Biz, the newsletter aimed at 8-11 year olds produced by the Young People Project at the National Fostering Network. The newsletter, which has been very well received, is currently running a poetry and drawing competition. It is looking for young entrants in its 5-11 and 12-16 year old categories. Prizes include iTunes vouchers, and the competition, which closes on 3rd September, has ‘Fostering’ as its theme.

Ms McLaughlin said: “I want to let as many people as possible know about this competition and this newsletter.

“The newsletter is really positive and optimistic about children in foster care, as it should be, and has advice, activities and news from other people in foster care. I would encourage any young person in foster care to enter the competitions, and to take a look at the newsletter.

“Not only will they learn from others’ experiences, but by getting involved they can win prizes and get their ideas, writing and even jokes in print.
