MSP urges small businesses to claim money for renewable energy
Anne McLaughlin MSP
Friday, 04 December 2009

SNP MSP Anne McLaughlin is urging small businesses across Glasgow to claim Scottish Government money to help them install renewable energy measures and reduce energy consumption.

The scheme (Energy Saving Loans), funded by the Scottish Government, offers small businesses 0% fixed rate loans of £1000 -£100,000 and Anne McLaughlin is keen to ensure Glasgow businesses don't lose out.

The MSP said: "In both the current economic and weather climate there is further pressure on small businesses' finances and that is something that the SNP Government realise and have responded to. Not only that, but Scotland has a responsibility to play our part and show our strengths when it comes to energy efficiency.

"There are lots of businesses which qualify for this scheme and either don't know about it or simply aren't claiming from it. I would urge them to take advantage of this opportunity to improve their business and play their part in the campaign for energy efficiency."
