Website misleading the public about boiler scrappage scheme Labour voted against
Glasgow MSP Anne McLaughlin has slammed the Labour Party for lying to the public on their website which states that there is no boiler scrappage scheme in Scotland.
The Scottish Labour Party website states on its home page that, "The SNP won't introduce the boiler scrappage scheme here". This is despite the fact that the scheme was part of the Scottish Government's budget plans that have already been passed by Parliament.
To add to the embarrassment for the party, despite claiming to be in support of the boiler scrappage scheme, they actually voted against it as part of budget proposals in the Scottish Parliament.
Anne McLaughlin condemned the Labour MSPs commenting: "This is deceptive nonsense coming from the Labour Party, you could be forgiven for thinking that the truth has become a stranger to them.
"The Scottish Government is introducing a boiler scrappage scheme, confirmed in the budget bill that has been passed by this Parliament 2 weeks ago and for the Labour Party still to be telling people we're REFUSING to introduce it is a disgrace.
"As if that wasn't bad enough, they actually voted against something that they told constituents they would lobby for on their behalf. They didn't even abstain, they voted AGAINST it.
"Labour in Scotland never cease to amaze me by how low they really are willing to sink".
Note:
See the Scottish Labour website, showing they are still telling constituents that there is no boiler scrappage scheme in Scotland.
