Mason launches Saturday advice surgery
In response to overwhelming local demand, the East End MP, John Mason, is set to launch a new weekly Saturday surgery.
The SNP MP for Glasgow East currently has eleven surgeries each month, with these being held every Friday afternoon. On a typical Friday, John holds two surgeries in different locations across the East End and one at his constituency office at 888 Shettleston Road, between 5.00pm and 6.30pm.
John has found the demand at his current surgeries to be higher than expected. So, from Saturday 5 September, the local MP will be holding a weekly advice session every Saturday morning from 9.30am.
Speaking about his new surgery arrangements, John said: "At the moment I am available in my constituency office every Friday between 5.00pm and 6.30pm, as well as in seven other locations across our area. However, my Friday evening surgery is often ‘standing room only’. So I was keen to make myself available on another occasions in order to meet local demand.
"I think that Saturday morning is probably the time when most folk who want to talk to me are available, so that is the time that I have decided to go for. I’m looking forward to welcoming people to me first Saturday surgery this coming weekend.
"My current surgeries are held in Cranhill, Baillieston, Parkhead, Easterhouse, Garthamlock, Carmyle and Barlanark. These vary from week to week – please contact me for more information.
"My local office is open from 9.00am ‘til 5.00pm between Monday to Friday, and my three staff will be able to offer advice and assistance as required. I am also happy to visit constituents at home."
