When it suits them, Labour likes to pretend that SPT is run on a friendly cross-party basis. However, when it comes to money and control, they hate to give an inch. This was seen a few months ago when all three paid councillors posts went to Labour. And even the Audit Committee (hardly likely to be a hotbed of political intrigue!) is planned to have 7 members with 4 being Labour.
The SNP and LibDems challenged this at Friday's meeting. Labour councillors also questioned non-councillor members ever having a vote. So the whole paper was continued, somewhat to the embarrassment of SPT chair, Alistair Watson.
