One of the central promises to tenants when they voted for housing stock transfer to Glasgow Housing Association was that there would be further transfers to local tenant control. However, GHA seem determined to postpone this process interminably. Now even Labour MSP Margaret Curran, who was a key player in the original transfer, seems to have belatedly lost patience with GHA. Although GHA argues the costs of a further transfer would be prohibitive, this seems hard to believe when there would obviously be huge cost savings as GHA overheads got swept away.
