A report was presented on the sale of Council land totalling some £200 million. Under questioning the Director of Development & Regeneration Services Steve Inch accepted that sales could not continue at this level indefinitely. While welcoming the expenditure on primary schools, the Clyde Tunnel, etc. which these receipts allow, the SNP is concerned about how future capital expenditure will be funded. Primary schools are only being renewed if land can be sold off so how can popular schools with no spare land be upgraded?
