Fridays SPT (Strathclyde Partnership for Transport) heard a report on how security on the Subway and elsewhere needs to be tightened because of terrorist threats. However, John Mason said he hoped there would be no repeat of previous ridiculous actions like the removal of litter bins from suburban stations in case they had bombs placed in them. He also pointed out that this security risk was caused by being part of the UK; the risk would be much less if Scotland was free.
