SNP Group welcomes Government line on GHA |

The new tough line on GHA has been welcomed by SNP housing spokesperson Colin Deans. Clearly Nicola Sturgeon and Stewart Maxwell are not going to be overawed by GHA in the way that previous Labour ministers and Communities Scotland have been. Colin Deans said after Wednesday's parliamentary debate, "(Communities Scotland's) report notes that GHA has made significant investment but fails to recognise that
in the thousands of houses still, after four years, 'under review', no investment is taking place, resulting in many thousands of families continuing to live in ever deteriorating conditions for the indefinite future."
He continued, "Communities Scotland is understandably incapable of a rigorous critique of its creature, GHA. Only Audit Scotland may have the forensic accountancy skills and the arms length autonomy to review and report on the competency and efficiency of GHA."
