Not such an I.T. city
Friday, 17 March 2006
On Wednesday the SNP's Councillor Billy McAllister got a phone on his desk. That might not be a remarkable piece of news … but it was 27 days after he was elected!

Glasgow City Council likes to think of itself as a real high-flyer in the field of modern technology. They have even won awards for some of their grand schemes. So you'd think that getting a phone extension into an existing office would be a piece of cake for them.

In fact, it took the first 20 days just to decide if a new cable had to be provided or not. After that it was a mere 7 days to get the cable and phone in place. Makes you wonder if Glasgow is still living in the dark ages!
