New pedestrian bridge over the Clyde
Friday, 19 August 2005

The SNP condemns the huge waste of money on the new pedestrian bridge to be built at the Broomielaw.   It has been reported to cost £35 million and seems unlikely to be used much as it will take such an indirect route across the river.
The Council is asking for suggested names.   The SNP would like to put forward the following ideas:

•    The White Elephant Bridge; or
•    The Bridge That Lost Its Way.
