Councillor James Dornan, SNP Leader of the Opposition on Glasgow City Council, today warmly welcomed the Scottish Government announcement that car park charges at all but one of Glasgow’s hospitals are to be removed.
Councillor Dornan said: “This is great news for the many hard working hospital staff who have had to endure these unfair charges to carry out their vital work. It is also good news for patients and hospital visitors who will no longer be penalised for coming to hospital by car.
“This announcement once again demonstrates the can-do attitude of the SNP Government and contrasts sharply with the disappointments of the Lib-Lab years; the issues around the Glasgow Royal Infirmary car park are a legacy of Labour’s love affair with PFI and show how private profit does not serve the public good”.
