Yet again Strathclyde Partnership for Transport has appointed a Labour councillor as one of the vice chairs. North Lanarkshire's David Fagan replaced Tom Selfridge on Friday 23rd. Councillor Selfridge had resigned in order to stand for the Scottish Christian Party at May's Holyrood elections.
Opposition councillors argued that one of the vice chairs should be a non-Labour councillor. But the decision was pushed through by the large Labour majority. However, Cllr Fagan's term may be a short one. Membership of SPT is likely to change dramatically after May 3rd.
