On Wednesday 26th a special
Development & Regeneration Scrutiny Committee was held. This was to
consider greenspace (Res 3) money being used for public realm work in Ingram
Street. In particular local SNP councillor Craig Mackay argued that £109,000
from the Baird Hall redevelopment should have been used in that part of the
city centre, e.g. for Garnethill Park, rather than for paving stones in the
Merchant City. However, Labour argued that they could do what they wanted and
defeated the move by 10 votes to 5.
