IN the past, the Labour Party and the Trade Union movement fought for
ordinary men and women. But those days are gone now. We have had nine
years of Labour government - and what have we to show for it?
Many things have even got worse.
- Anti Socials and drug gangsters run amok - and in Milton the authorities turn a blind eye.
- Unemployment is sky high, there are not enough good jobs for
young people, and low pay makes many jobs worse than being on benefits.
- St. Augustineâs school has been closed and its sports pitches
left vandalised without changing rooms. Itâs wrong that Milton kids now
have to travel to school in buses, and wrong that our sports facilities
are taken from us.
- Our National Health Service is under threat of privatisation, and Stobhill is still not safe.
- Our Homes have been transferred to Glasgow Housing Association
Ltd. - who have not delivered on the promises made before the transfer
vote for tenants in flats and tenements.
Long ago, the Labour Party would have been on our side fighting to improve those issues. But now they are causing the problems.
They have failed us long enough. Itâs time to take back out communities. |
