A huge council tax rise is likely in April. Glasgow is expected to have the highest Council Tax in Scotland - again.
Billy McAllister says: "This is a disgrace when you think of the poor
quality services Glasgow City Council gives us. Litter is strewn all
over the streets, common and garden areas are full of rubbish, fly
tipping is at an all time high. People with care packages having these
cut and this is leaving vulnerable people even more vulnerable. St.
Augustine's playing fields have been left to rot with no changing rooms
and only one marked football pitch."
Billy feels that these and other worthwhile services to our communities
could be properly funded if the massive wastage of money within the
Council was tackled - including their hospitality bill and their
all-expenses-paid junkets.
