Talking about the unjust system of local taxation, Knightswood Park candidate Graeme Hendry commented:
"It punishes the low paid and the elderly and the SNP will end
this shameful tax. The Labour Scottish Executive refuses to ditch the
Council Tax, and the Labour Party in Glasgow set the highest tax in
Glasgow. The voters of Knightswood Park can put a nail in the coffin of
the Council Tax by rejecting New Labour on November 10th, and voting
SNP."
The SNP would replace the Council Tax with a Local Income Tax, based on people's ability to pay.
