Ken Andrew to contest Hillhead by-election
Hillhead
Saturday, 15 October 2011

The SNP has selected Ken Andrew to contest the Hillhead by-election.

53 year old Ken is married with one son, and has lived in the West End of Glasgow for 35 years. A graduate of Strathclyde University, Ken worked for many years as a prosthetist in Glasgow, and now works for the NHS managing equipment services for people with physical disabilities.

A lifelong Partick Thistle fan and regular at Firhill, Ken can often be seen running the streets of the West End and has regularly run in 10k road races.
He is currently Vice-Chair of North Kelvin Community Council and Secretary of Glasgow Kelvin SNP.

Ken said: “George Roberts was an outstanding councillor for Hillhead, and I want to follow his example as a representative of people in the area.

“I'm passionate about Scotland, the city of Glasgow, and the positive future the SNP want to build for people who live here.”

Sandra White, MSP for Glasgow Kelvin said: “Ken will be a strong local voice for people in Hillhead, and I look forward to working with him as part of the SNP's team delivering for Glasgow Kelvin.”

Note:

The by-election was caused by the death of Cllr George Roberts, and will be held on Thursday 17th November.
