Over 1500 new jobs for Glasgow have been welcomed by the SNP candidate in the Glasgow North East by-election, David Kerr. The 1505 jobs are supported with funding from the SNP Scottish Government.
The jobs were part of a series of announcements made by First Minister Alex Salmond and Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon in their speeches to the SNP's annual conference in Inverness as great news for Glasgow.

His comments come as Labour's leader in the Scottish Parliament admitted Labour 'could have done more' for the area.

Commenting on a report by The University College Union entitled Location, Location, Location which puts Glasgow North East at the bottom of a table ranking educational attainment in the UK, SNP by-election candidate David Kerr said: "There is nothing more important than education and if elected, reversing the low rate of educational attainment in this constituency will be one of my top priorities.
"After 74 years in power, this is the disgraceful legacy of Labour that must be tackled. |

As the writ for the Glasgow North East by-election was finally moved in the House of Commons today (Friday), SNP campaign manager Stewart Hosie MP said that the contest was a two horse race between the SNP and Labour.
Speaking from Inverness, where the party is holding its 75th annual conference, Mr Hosie said: "Labour have neglected Glasgow North East for 74 years - leaving this constituency without an MP for six months is just the latest in a long line of failures.
