Labour lurch from chaos to confusion
Thursday, 10 July 2008

Following the appearance of Labour's candidate for Glasgow East on Newsnight Scotland an SNP spokesperson said;

"Where there was uncertainty in Margaret Curran's position there is now utter confusion.

"With no clarity or commitment to voters in Glasgow East over her role as an MSP Margaret Curran has no basis on which to seek election for a second job.

"Labour's campaign has lurched from chaos to confusion.  On key issues  of a hike in road tax, rising fuel duty and an independence referendum Labour's candidate is unclear and confused.

"Labour must be straight with the voters - where does Margaret Curran stand and will she stand down?

"The SNP's candidate in Glasgow East is on the side of people in this constituency and the election of John Mason will force Gordon Brown to take action on fuel duty, on road tax and on the rising prices hitting household budgets."
