Speaking from the campaign in Glasgow East Cllr Mason said: "People across the constituency are turning to the SNP for the first time as they realise that it is only the SNP who are on the side of people in Glasgow East and that the Labour party are out of touch.

"From the rising prices for energy, petrol and food to the council tax and the abolition of the 10pence tax rate people feel let down by Labour and are turning to the SNP for a better future for the East End.

"A vote for the SNP on Thursday will send a message to Gordon Brown that its time for a fair deal for the East End."

Mr Thomas Rogers:
"I'm sick of Labour sitting around doing nothing. We're neglected day in and day out."

Mrs Catherine Watt:
"I think we need a change. Let's give someone else a chance. Things can't get any worse"

Mrs Barbara Campbell:
"I'm disillusioned with Labour. I don't feel they're doing anything for me, my family or the area.

"We've been hit by 10p tax. My mortgage is almost up but this is like a second mortgage."

Annie McFarlane:
"I'm all for Scotland. I voted Labour most of my life but I am not happy with the way things are at the moment. I think the SNP could make a better job"

Mrs Annie Ross:
"I think we need a wee change. We're not getting much done for us."
