Glasgow City Council has confirmed that there is no more money for the Calvay, Wellhouse and Barlanark area to do housing regeneration, despite years of promises to do just that by Jim Coleman, former Ward councillor for the area.
Local MP John Mason slammed the Labour Council saying, “after years of neglect, you would think that Labour would learn that houses are more than bricks and mortar but are people’s homes. Local people want decent warm affordable homes and with the resources that Glasgow has, this shouldn’t be difficult to achieve.”
David Turner spoke of his dismay at Labour’s insult, “I know we don’t expect everything to happen overnight, no one does, but it seems like Jim Coleman doesn’t care any more. It’s time to finish the job, Jim, and if you won’t, I will!”
